ISupportFBISD.org is a diverse, bi-partisan association of community leaders and organizations dedicated to improving academic achievement within the Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD).

ISupportFBISD.org believes that school board members should insist upon a higher standard of accountability for the superintendent and other administrators. This accountability must include both financial and academic issues. Those who would serve on our school board must critically evaluate all district spending proposals to ensure that they add measurable value to academic performance and accountability.

ISupportFBISD.org is dedicated to changing the culture of our school board’s practice of being too willing to ‘rubber stamp’ its administration’s proposals by helping the board better represent the teachers, students, and taxpayers of the district. We are dedicated to opening a positive dialogue with our board of trustees as well as with classroom teachers to gain a better understanding of the challenges they confront and the support they need to work more effectively with our children.

We believe…

• the district has lost sight of the financial realities that many Fort Bend I.S.D. families confront by failing to justify many of its spending decisions including bonded debt;
• the academic data presented to the public by FBISD do not accurately reflect the college preparedness of our students;
• an honestly stated academic equity gap between white and minority students is larger than reported by FBISD; and
• that central administrators have created a hostile work environment for classroom teachers by micromanaging their efforts through counterproductive mandates.
